The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, said Saturday’s Area Council elections in the FCT reflect President Bola Tinubu’s visionary leadership.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the APC won five of the six chairmanship seats, including Karu, Abuja Municipal, Bwari, Kuje, Abaji, and Kwali, while the PDP won Gwagwalada.

Wike described the results as evidence that the Renewed Hope Agenda has restored optimism and confidence among FCT residents. He also praised the peaceful conduct of the elections, saying it showed citizens’ commitment to democracy.

He thanked residents for believing in what he called a “renewed and credible democratic process” and commended all candidates for upholding democratic values.

Wike also lauded the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for ensuring a free, fair, and peaceful election. He urged winners to serve with humility and dedication and pledged that the FCT Administration would continue delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda.
