Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has reassured residents that there is no cause for alarm over reports alleging the transfer of oil wells from the state.

The Governor gave the assurance on Sunday while speaking with Government House Correspondents upon his arrival at the Victor Attah International Airport.

Governor Eno stated that two valid Supreme Court judgments have affirmed Akwa Ibom State’s ownership of the oil wells, including the reported 76 wells, insisted that no propaganda or sentiment can overturn those decisions.

He explained that the Supreme Court had clearly established that Akwa Ibom shares maritime boundaries with the Republic of Cameroon and not Cross River State.

The Governor expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s respect for the rule of law, noting that the Federal Government would uphold the Supreme Court rulings on the matter.

He urged citizens to remain calm, stressing that the issue is based on established legal facts, not emotions.

Governor Eno also referenced the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, which has officially refuted claims that the oil wells were ceded to Cross River State, describing such reports as false and misleading.

After addressing journalists, the Governor proceeded to inspect ongoing projects, including the Airport Hospital ahead of the planned commencement of international flights in April. He also visited the Dakkada Luxury Estate to assess progress, ensure compliance with project specifications.
