The General Officer Commanding 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Oluremi Ayobami Fadairo, has reaffirmed the Division’s commitment to defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and maintaining national security.
He gave the assurance during the Interdenominational Church Service and Juma’at Prayer held at the Abakpa Military Cantonment in Enugu as part of activities marking the 2026 Nigerian Army Day Celebration.
Major General Fadairo expressed gratitude to God for the operational successes recorded by the Nigerian Army and the Eighty-Two Division, urging officers and soldiers to remain resilient and committed to their constitutional responsibilities.

Delivering the goodwill message of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the GOC commended troops for their sacrifices and successes in ongoing counter-insurgency and internal security operations.
He also paid tribute to fallen soldiers who lost their lives in the defence of the nation and acknowledged the vital support of military families in sustaining the morale of personnel.
The GOC further highlighted the Nigerian Army’s ongoing expansion through recruitment and the establishment of new formations to strengthen security operations nationwide.
He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his continued support to the Army, saying the expansion would enhance operational effectiveness and contribute to lasting peace and security.
During the Juma’at Prayer, the Commander of Eighty-Two Division Garrison, Brigadier General G. A. Suru, represented the General Officer Commanding and called on personnel to remain disciplined, professional and loyal in the discharge of their duties.

Special prayers were also offered for President Bola Tinubu, the Armed Forces, military commanders, officers and soldiers, their families, and the repose of the souls of fallen heroes.
The Nigerian Army says the activities reaffirm its commitment to national unity, peace and the defence of Nigeria’s sovereignty.
