The Labour Party has announced an appeals process for presidential, gubernatorial, and National Assembly aspirants dissatisfied with the outcome of its screening exercise ahead of the 2026 elections.
This was contained in a notice jointly signed by the Chairman of the Screening Appeals Committee, Barrister Taiwo Mary Ajayi, and the committee secretary, Hajia Bintu Konto over the weekend in Abuja.

According to the party’s Screening Appeals Committee, affected aspirants are instructed to submit their notices of appeal along with supporting documents no later than 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 25, 2026, for further action.
The party explained that appeal proceedings would be conducted according to its constitution, electoral guidelines, and approved terms of reference.
The committee stated that aspirants could either complete the official appeal form or submit a self-written notice, provided it follows the approved format. Applicants were also advised to clearly explain the basis of their complaints and attach all relevant documents.

The party warned that appeals submitted after the deadline would not be considered and stressed that only officially recognised channels, including physical submissions and the designated email platform, would be accepted.
