Some voters at the Durumi II Polling Unit in Abuja Municipal Area Council raised concerns on Saturday over the omission of names from the voter register during the ongoing Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections.
While a large turnout of voters was observed at the polling unit, several prospective voters complained that their names were missing from the register displayed on the wall for verification.
Investigations at the polling unit revealed that names beginning with the letters C, E, H, and I were absent from the displayed register.
A check confirmed that voters under those alphabetical categories could not be found on the list.
One affected voter, Chidi Uchechi, expressed frustration, stating, “I didn’t see my name there. Names beginning with C aren’t on the register pasted here.”
The development raised concerns among voters about the completeness and accuracy of the voter register at the polling unit, though electoral officials continued to manage bp proceedings while addressing complaints.
