Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has stated that his recent visits to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and CSS Farm in Nasarawa State were aimed at widening the state’s development frontiers.

Speaking to Government House correspondents upon his arrival at Victor Attah International Airport, Governor Eno explained that the visit to the President, who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, was a routine briefing on the affairs of Akwa Ibom State.

“Naturally, from time to time, Governors go to brief the President. He is the father of the nation. As a sub-national entity, you brief him on the affairs of the state, where you need help, and what is going on. It was one of such briefings,” the Governor said.

On his visit to the CSS Farm in Nasarawa State, Governor Eno described it as a study tour aimed at learning from the multi-faceted agricultural facility.

The insights gained, he said, would guide improvements and innovations at the ongoing Ibom Model Farm, which is central to his ARISE Agenda for agriculture and economic development.

“The visit was a study tour. You know we have the Ibom Model Farm, so we went to see what they are doing and what we can do differently. You must compare notes. There is really nothing new under the sun. People are doing different things, so you have to check what they are doing and compare notes. Let our team see what others are doing, what is behind their success story, and what we can take away. It was a working visit really,” Governor Eno explained.

The Governor reiterated that such engagements are part of his administration’s commitment to learning best practices, applying knowledge, and replicating successful models to accelerate development and improve the state’s agricultural and economic landscape.
