Vice President, Kashim Shettima has visited victims of the recent bomb blast at Gamboru Market Mosque, offering condolences, pledging continued government support to those affected.
According to a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Spokesman and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media & Communications, Shettima met with victims receiving medical treatment, conveyed the sympathy of President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Government.
The Vice President assured the injured, families of victims that the government would continue to provide necessary assistance in the wake of the tragic incident.
“Vice President Kashim Shettima has visited victims of the bomb blast at the Gamboru Market Mosque in Maiduguri, Borno State, to commiserate with those injured, the families affected by the tragic incident,” Nkwocha said. “He met with victims receiving treatment, conveyed the sympathy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Government, assuring them of the government’s continued support.”
The Gamboru Market Mosque attack occurred on Wednesday, during the evening Maghrib prayer session, resulting in at least five confirmed deaths, 35 injuries.
The tragic blast, which struck worshippers in the midst of prayers, underscores ongoing security challenges in Borno State and the wider North-East region.
