The United States has called on all parties involved in the renewed tensions around Aleppo and its surrounding areas to exercise maximum restraint, prioritize the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure.
In a statement released by the United States Central Command, CENTCOM, Commander Admiral Brad Cooper said the US is closely monitoring developments in Aleppo and warned against actions that could further escalate tensions in the already fragile region.
According to the statement, all relevant actors were urged to avoid steps that could deepen instability and instead return to the negotiating table in good faith. Admiral Cooper emphasized the need for sustained dialogue, aimed at achieving a durable diplomatic resolution to the conflict.
He noted that a Syria at peace with itself and its neighbors would contribute significantly to broader peace and prosperity across the Middle East. The statement also stressed that both the United States and Syria share an interest in preserving peace and stability throughout the region.
The call comes amid growing concerns over civilian safety and the security of vital infrastructure as hostilities and military movements intensify in parts of northern Syria.
The US reaffirmed its position that long term stability in Syria can only be achieved through dialogue, restraint and inclusive political engagement, rather than continued confrontation.
