UDUS GOVERNING COUNCIL DISMISSES STAFF OVER NYSC MOBILIZATION IRREGULARITIES

The Governing Council of Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto (UDUS), has approved the dismissal of a staff member, Malam Garba Ahmed from the institution’s service over alleged misconduct involving the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilization process.

This was contained in a statement issued by Ismaila Mohammed Yauri, Director of Information and Public Relations at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

According to him, the decision was reached during the Council’s 176th meeting held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

Ahmed, who previously worked in the university’s Registry Department, was found guilty of illegally uploading unqualified students for NYSC mobilization.

The statement stated that the dismissal takes immediate effect from the date of the Council’s decision.

University authorities emphasized that the institution maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward serious or gross misconduct, stressing that the action reflects its commitment to maintaining integrity and transparency in administrative processes.
