The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, has called on Nigerians to embrace hope, unity, and collective responsibility as the country navigates economic and security challenges.

In his 2026 Easter message to Christians, Turaki said the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ offers a powerful reminder that hope endures even in difficult times, stressing that the values of sacrifice, resilience, and renewal are crucial to Nigeria’s present reality.

“Easter is a reminder that even in our lowest moments, hope is never extinguished. It speaks to sacrifice, resilience, and the triumph of light over darkness,” he said.

The PDP chairman acknowledged the hardships facing many Nigerians, including the rising cost of living, struggling businesses, and widespread uncertainty.

“Families are burdened by the rising cost of living, businesses are struggling to stay afloat, and uncertainty weighs heavily on the hearts of our people. I truly feel the pains and concerns of ordinary Nigerians,” he stated.

Turaki also expressed concern over the persistent insecurity in parts of the country, noting that many communities continue to suffer loss, displacement, and fear.

“These realities remind us that beyond policies and politics, what our nation urgently needs is compassion, unity, and decisive leadership that prioritizes the safety and dignity of every citizen,” he added.

He further highlighted the plight of vulnerable Nigerians facing hunger and hardship, urging both leaders and citizens to respond with empathy and generosity.

Despite the challenges, Turaki expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, saying the Easter message of renewal offers assurance of better days ahead.

“As Nigerians, this is our moment to hold on to faith and to one another. Let this season inspire us to recommit ourselves to peace, love, and national unity, and to work together across all divides to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Nigeria,” he said.

The PDP chairman reaffirmed his belief in the country’s resilience, expressing confidence that Nigeria would overcome its current trials.

“Nigeria too shall rise from this. Our current trials will not define us. Our resilience, unity, and faith will,” he said.
