US President, Donald Trump landed safely at Joint Base Andrews after a minor electrical issue was detected on Air Force One shortly after takeoff en route to Davos, Switzerland.

The Boeing 747 carrying the President returned to base, and Trump continued his trip on a smaller Boeing 757, departing more than two hours after the initial takeoff. The President is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Air safety incidents involving the US President are rare, however not unprecedented. Previous cases include an aborted landing for President Obama in 2011 due to bad weather and a bird strike on Air Force Two carrying Vice President Biden in 2012.
