Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded another major operational success, following a well-coordinated combat against terrorist elements in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in the rescue of abducted civilians.

According to the military, the operation was conducted in the early hours of January 4, 2026, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). Troops engaged the terrorists at a known crossing point along the Sojiri axis, where five terrorists were neutralized during the encounter.

No casualty was recorded among the troops, a development that underscores the professionalism, precision, and combat effectiveness of the security forces involved in the operation.

The troops also successfully rescued three civilians who had been kidnapped by the terrorists. Items recovered during the operation included AK-47 rifles and other assorted materials.

The Nigerian military noted that the successful operation reflects OPHK’s sustained commitment to aggressive offensive actions against terrorist groups, while prioritizing the protection of civilians. It further highlighted the importance of effective collaboration with local security stakeholders in degrading terrorist capabilities.

The statement added that troops’ morale remains high as security forces continue to dominate the operational environment across the North-East theatre despite evolving security dynamics.

Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its resolve to dismantle terrorist networks, restore lasting peace and stability in the region.
