Media Personality and Entrepreneur, Toke Makinwa has stirred fresh conversations on relationships and fidelity after sharing a controversial perspective on cheating, during a recent episode of her podcast, Toke Moments.
Speaking candidly, Makinwa argued that infidelity is not exclusive to men, claiming that women cheat just as much, if not more, but are generally better at keeping it secret. She clarified, however, that her remarks were not intended to promote unfaithfulness, rather to reflect observations she has made through age, experience, interactions.
According to her, societal narratives often portray men as the primary culprits on infidelity, a notion she believes is misleading.
“As I grow older, I realized that it is not just men who can cheat. Why are we making these men feel so special as if it is only them?” she said.
Makinwa further explained that while men often expend money, time and effort to be unfaithful, women may find it easier because they are more often the recipients of attention rather than the pursuers.
“Do you know how easy it is for a woman to cheat? It is even easier for us. But men will spend money, efforts, time to cheat. But we are the ones receiving,” she stated.
She also touched on why some women choose to remain faithful; stressing that it is not due to a lack of opportunity, rather personal discipline and inner strength.
“A woman not cheating isn’t because she can’t. It’s probably because she has one thing you lack, it’s strength,” Makinwa noted.

She concluded by reiterating her belief that women tend to conceal infidelity more effectively, a statement that has since generated mixed reactions across social media, with supporters praising her honesty whilst critics question the generalization.
