President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated a Committee on Strategy, Conflict Resolution and Mobilization to address internal disputes within the All-Progressives Congress, as preparations begin for the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga.
According to the statement, the committee was inaugurated in Lagos and is chaired by the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, while former APC National Legal Adviser, Mr. Muiz Banire, will serve as the member-secretary.
The committee comprises governors, ministers, and other key stakeholders of the ruling party and is expected to work towards strengthening unity, resolving internal conflicts, and mobilising party members ahead of the next general elections.
Speaking after the inauguration, the Chairman of the Committee and Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, said the committee would engage in wide consultations to develop a comprehensive, inclusive, and result-oriented strategy for the party.

Governor Buni said the committee would implement systems that give all party members, especially aggrieved stakeholders, a sense of belonging and renewed hope.
He added that the committee would also consider proactive measures and solutions, as well as potential threats, in its conflict resolution approach.
The committee Chairman urged members to put aside personal interests and work towards the collective goals of the All Progressives Congress.
The inauguration followed President Tinubu’s call for unity within the party during the Fifteenth National Executive Committee meeting of the APC held on December nineteenth at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja.
