President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reassured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to alleviating economic hardship, particularly in the face of global pressures linked to the ongoing Middle East crisis.

The President gave the assurance in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, during the commissioning of key infrastructure projects executed by Governor Duoye Diri.

Addressing stakeholders and residents, Tinubu acknowledged the current economic challenges, noting that external factors, including global tensions, have contributed to rising fuel prices and increased cost of living. He, however, disclosed that he has directed relevant ministries and agencies to urgently explore and implement measures aimed at cushioning the impact on Nigerians.

He stressed that governance must be reflected in tangible improvements in the lives of citizens, emphasizing the need for sustained investment in critical sectors such as roads, power, job creation, and economic opportunities.

Commending Governor Diri for his development strides, the President highlighted major projects delivered by the Bayelsa State Government, including the 60-megawatt independent power plant, the Angiama–Oporoma Bridge, and newly constructed road networks. He described the projects as vital to the socio-economic transformation of the state.

Tinubu further reaffirmed the Federal Government’s readiness to collaborate with state governments to accelerate development, strengthen energy supply, and improve the overall well-being of Nigerians.

The visit underscored ongoing efforts by the administration to promote infrastructure development and economic growth under its Renewed Hope agenda.
