The Peoples Democratic Party has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately announce the outstanding results from Kuje Area Council, warning that any delay could undermine the credibility of the electoral process.
In a statement posted on Facebook, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, expressed concern that results from Kuje Central and Kabi wards were yet to be declared. He alleged that the delay was raising apprehension due to what he described as the PDP’s marginal lead in the area, fears of possible manipulation.
Ememobong urged the INEC Chairman to direct the immediate announcement of the results, noting that most of them had already been uploaded to the IREV portal.
He stressed that election outcomes must reflect the true votes of the people, warning that anything short of that would invalidate the process.
The statement added that the sanctity of the ballot must be upheld to protect public confidence in the democratic system.
