The Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Udeme Otong, has expressed firm belief in the ability of Engr. Iboro Johnny, PhD, to deliver effectively if entrusted with public office.
Otong made this known on Sunday, April 12, 2026, when Engr. Johnny paid him a consultation visit at his residence in Abak Itenghe, located in Abak Local Government Area.
During the meeting, the Speaker praised Engr. Johnny’s track record in community development, highlighting his contributions to infrastructure and human capital growth within Abak.
He specifically acknowledged efforts in road construction, installation of solar-powered street lighting, and initiatives aimed at empowering people.
Offering his prayers, Otong emphasized that divine purpose often works through individuals in positions of influence, and he encouraged Engr. Johnny to expand his consultations across the federal constituency.
He also advised members of the team to remain supportive of key national and state leaders, including President Bola Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Bassey Eno, noting their efforts toward governance and development.
In his remarks, Engr. Johnny expressed appreciation to God for His grace and thanked the Speaker for the warm reception. He commended Otong’s developmental achievements in the Abak State Constituency, describing them as bold and impactful contributions to the area’s progress.
Speaking on his ambition to contest for the Abak/Etim Ekpo/Ika Federal Constituency seat in 2027, Engr. Johnny reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people diligently. He pledged to represent the constituency with compassion, humility, and respect for constituted authority, while prioritizing collective interests.
The visit culminated in his formal declaration of interest in the seat, alongside a request for support and prayers from the Speaker and stakeholders.
