South African police have arrested a female suspect in connection with the killing of a 22-year-old Nigerian e-hailing driver, Isaac Satlat.

The incident occurred on February 11 after the victim reportedly picked up passengers who requested his service in Pretoria West.

CCTV footage cited by authorities allegedly shows a female passenger attacking the driver while a male passenger seated in the back joined in the assault. The victim was reportedly overpowered and later found inside his vehicle after it was hijacked. Police said the suspects abandoned the car with Mr Satlat’s body still inside before fleeing the scene.

Following investigations, police confirmed the arrest of a female suspect linked to the crime. Authorities disclosed that additional arrests are expected as investigations continue.

The suspect is scheduled to appear before the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges bordering on car hijacking and murder.

Mr Satlat, who was said to be a student in South Africa, was reportedly preparing to graduate in March before the tragic incident. His death has sparked outrage among Nigerians both at home and in the diaspora, with renewed concerns over the safety of foreign nationals in South Africa.
