Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, hosted members of the Muslim community from the state’s three senatorial zones for the 2026 Iftar at the Government House, “Light House,” on Saturday, demonstrating a commitment to communal solidarity, inclusivity, and unity.
The gathering provided an opportunity for the governor to break the daily Ramadan fast alongside Muslim leaders. Soludo expressed gratitude for the community’s support during the last governorship election, noting that his administration secured 73 per cent of the votes cast.
Governor Soludo emphasized the importance of unity, inclusivity, and peace, urging residents to continue building a society that benefits all. He also highlighted the decline in insecurity, particularly herder-farmer conflicts, and encouraged Nigerians to live harmoniously regardless of where they reside.
The event included remarks from the Secretary General of the Anambra State Muslim Council, Alhaji Sanni Ejoh, who congratulated Soludo on his re-election and praised his first term as eventful and result-oriented. The Chairman of the Fulani Community in Anambra State, Alhaji Gidado Saddiki, also commended the administration for fostering peace and community cohesion.
The Governor reaffirmed his inclusive policy, emphasizing that all residents have equal rights and urging continued cooperation in building a peaceful, prosperous Anambra.
