Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, has called on the Edo state government to release 52 detained students of Ambrose Alli University (AAU).

Senator Akpoti emphasized that youths should not be criminalized for speaking up and protesting on issues affecting their environment, welfare, and future.

She urged the government to prioritize addressing kidnappings, other forms of insecurity instead of suppressing voices advocating for change.

The Senator expressed her solidarity with the students and their right to peaceful protest on her Facebook page.
