The national leadership of the City Boy Movement has appointed Miss Iniabasi Godswill Akpabio, daughter of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, as the State Director of the group in Akwa Ibom State.
The appointment was announced in a brief statement posted on the movement’s verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Thursday.
According to the statement, the decision is part of the organization’s broader strategy to expand its grassroots presence and strengthen youth-focused programmes across the South-South region.
The City Boy Movement expressed confidence in Iniabasi Akpabio’s leadership, noting that the organisation is poised to achieve significant progress in Akwa Ibom State under her direction.
“Introducing the Akwa Ibom State Director of the City Boy Movement, Iniabasi Godswill Akpabio. With her at the helm in Akwa Ibom, the movement is set for unprecedented impact,” the statement read.
The City Boy Movement is a political support group known for mobilising young people and promoting political engagement, particularly in support of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Iniabasi Akpabio’s appointment is expected to further drive youth mobilization and expand the activities of the movement within Akwa Ibom State and the wider South-South region.
