The Rivers State Police Command has announced the appointment of a new Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), marking a leadership transition in its communications unit.
In a statement issued on Friday, the outgoing spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed that Agabe Kaborlo has been named as her successor. The appointment, she said, received approval from the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
Kaborlo, an indigene of Rivers State, joined the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 2023 after completing her training at the Nigeria Police Academy, where she earned a degree in law. She also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) from Rivers State University.
The statement highlighted her professional development, noting that she has undergone specialised training in areas such as combat operations, counter-terrorism and leadership. Over the course of her service, she has held several roles within the force.
Her previous assignments include postings at the Divisional Police Station in Okporo, the Human Rights Section, and the Police Public Relations Office, where she served as Second-in-Command prior to her elevation.
The command expressed confidence in her ability to perform effectively in the role, adding that her appointment is expected to strengthen public communication, improve transparency and deepen engagement between the police and residents of the state.
