Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has publicly called on former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai to address the prolonged disappearance of social media commentator, Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Dadiyata.

In a post shared on his Facebook page, Omokri highlighted the plight of Dadiyata’s wife, Khadija Ahmad Lame, stating that for seven years she has been unable to properly define her marital status because her husband’s whereabouts remain unknown.

According to him, the uncertainty has left her in emotional distress, unable to determine whether she should consider herself married or widowed. He described the situation as one that has left the family in prolonged trauma and limbo.

Omokri appealed directly to El Rufai, urging him to show empathy, provide clarity on the matter. He referenced the holy month of Ramadan in his message, calling on the former Governor to “fear God” and speak on the issue.

Dadiyata reportedly went missing in 2019, sparking widespread concern and repeated calls for investigation. Despite public outcry over the years, his disappearance remains unresolved.

As of press time, El Rufai has not issued any official response to Omokri’s statement.

The renewed appeal has reignited conversations on social media about accountability, justice and the emotional toll prolonged unresolved cases take on families left behind.
