In a bid to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for attendees of this year’s Christmas Unplugged 3.0, Akwa Ibom State Government has announced the introduction of a designated transport system for event-goers.
Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia, announced this on Friday during a tour with new media practitioners.
Dr. Udofia explained that the initiative aims to assist attendees who may face challenges returning home late at night.

“We recognized the need to make special arrangements for our people, especially those who may have difficulty commuting at night,” he said.
According to the Commissioner, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is collaborating with the Ministry of Transport to deploy designated buses along major routes in Uyo, with Unity Park serving as the departure point. Passengers will be responsible for the bus fares.
“Christmas Unplugged is an event of international repute. Every aspect of its organization must be carefully planned to provide a safe, convenient, and memorable experience for the people,” Dr. Udofia added.
The event, which is widely celebrated for its music, entertainment, and cultural displays, promises to attract thousands of residents and visitors.
With the special transport arrangements, the government hopes to make participation more accessible and stress-free.
