POLICE RESCUE FOUR ABDUCTED CHILDREN IN NASARAWA

The Nasarawa State Police Command has rescued four abducted children following a discreet, intelligence-led operation in Karu Local Government Area of the state.

The rescue followed a report received on December 31, 2025, at the New Nyanya Police Division, over the mysterious disappearance of the children under suspicious circumstances.

In a statement made available to journalists, the Police Public Relations Officer, Ramhan Nansel, said the command immediately launched a thorough investigation after receiving the report.

According to him, detectives of the command, working in collaboration with operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, acted on credible intelligence, traced the suspects’ hideout, where the children were safely recovered, unharmed.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the children were allegedly abducted by a 28-year-old suspect, Abraham Asoje, who reportedly conspired with one Joy Bolaje, aged 29, both residents of Ado Junction in Karu Local Government Area.

The suspects were said to have kept the children in confinement before the timely intervention of the police.

The rescued children have since been reunited with their families, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects linked to the crime.

The Commissioner of Police, Shetima Mohammed, has commended the professionalism and swift response of the operatives involved in the rescue operation.

The police have reassured residents of their commitment to protecting lives and property, particularly children and other vulnerable members of society, while urging parents and guardians to remain vigilant.
