The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed reports claiming that it held a meeting with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the allegation as misleading and unfounded.

In a press release signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed on Wednesday April 8, 2026, the party said it had taken note of circulating reports suggesting that it engaged in discussions with the ADC.

The PDP, however, categorically denied holding any form of meeting, formal or informal with the party or any of its representatives.

According to the statement, no such engagement was convened or authorised by the PDP leadership. The party stressed that individuals alleged to have participated in such discussions did so strictly in their personal capacities and should not be seen as representing the party.

The PDP therefore urged its members, supporters, and the general public to disregard the claims, noting that they do not reflect the party’s official position or activities.

The party also used the opportunity to update members on its internal processes, stating that preparations for upcoming party primaries have made considerable progress. It added that details regarding timelines and guidelines for the primaries would be communicated in due course.

Reaffirming its commitment to internal democracy and national leadership, the PDP stated that it remains focused on strengthening its structures and providing credible direction for Nigerians.
