Weeks after temporarily stepping down from his pastoral responsibilities, Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry in Lagos, has returned to lead church services.
The announcement comes amid continuing controversies involving his ex-wife, Bessem, and actress Doris Ogala. In January, Okafor had stepped aside as presiding pastor, citing the need to address personal and legal matters.
Despite a court order restraining her from making public statements, Doris Ogala has continued to escalate allegations against the pastor. Okafor has not publicly responded to the new claims but resumed his duties, indicating a return to normal church operations.
The pastor highlighted that January included four Sundays, implying that he had missed only a brief period of service while attending to personal matters. Church members and supporters have welcomed his return, though tensions surrounding the ongoing allegations remain.
