Eight-division world champion, Manny Pacquiao, has confirmed he will return to the ring on April 18 in Las Vegas for a high-profile clash against former junior welterweight world champion, Ruslan Provodnikov.

The bout will mark Pacquiao’s second fight since ending a four-year retirement last year.

The 47-year-old boxing legend made his comeback in July 2025, battling to a majority draw against WBC welterweight champion, Mario Barrios, in a contest that signaled his renewed ambition in the sport.

Speaking ahead of the April encounter, Pacquiao said he remains driven by national pride and the unwavering backing of his supporters worldwide.

“I carry the Philippines with me every time I fight. The support from my country and from fans around the world continues to inspire me,” Pacquiao stated.

He also expressed delight at returning to Las Vegas, a city where he recorded several defining victories during the peak years of his illustrious career.

Beyond the ring, Pacquiao has remained active in public service. He served as a senator in the Philippines from 2016 to 2022 and contested the country’s presidential election in 2022.

Regarded as one of boxing’s all-time greats, Pacquiao remains the only fighter to win world titles in eight weight divisions. In 2019, he became the oldest welterweight world champion at age 40.

With a professional record of 62 wins, eight losses and three draws from 73 bouts, Pacquiao was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2025.

The April 18 showdown is expected to attract global attention as fans anticipate whether the Filipino icon can once again defy age against the hard-hitting Provodnikov.
