Former U.S. President Barack Obama has condemned the operations of federal law enforcement and immigration agents in Minnesota, following the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

In a statement on his official Facebook page, Obama described the actions of masked U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) recruits and other federal agents as intimidating and reckless, raising serious concerns about accountability and coordination with state and local authorities.

Obama noted that the aggressive tactics employed by federal agents have provoked unrest in Minneapolis, with explanations for the shootings appearing inconsistent with video evidence. He urged the administration to work constructively with Governor Tim Walz, Mayor Jacob Frey, and local police to prevent further incidents.

The former president also praised the largely peaceful protests in Minneapolis and across the country, emphasizing the role of citizens in advocating for justice, protecting civil liberties, and holding government officials accountable.
