The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, has described the sudden death of El-Nathan Amos, the son of its former Chairman, Mr. Amos Dunia as a tragic and heartbreaking loss to his family and the Council.
In an-signed, Secretary, NUJ FCT Council, Comrade Jide Oyekunle, the council said it received with deep shock and sadness
It added that the loss has left the entire NUJ FCT family in mourning, even as the members stand in solidarity with the bereaved family during the difficult and painful moment.
According to the statement, the tragic incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday November 30, 2025, when late El-Nathan slumped and passed away at home.
“The NUJ FCT Council expressed deep sorrow over the irreparable loss, describing it as a painful blow not just to the family of Amos Dunia but to the entire NUJ FCT family.
“We are heartbroken by this painful and untimely loss and this has cast a pall of grief over the entire journalism community in the FCT.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of El-Nathan’s passing. He was a vibrant young man whose life was full of promise. We pray that God grants him and the entire family the strength to bear this painful loss.
“Mr. Amos Dunia is not only a respected elder of the union but also a committed professional who contributed immensely to journalism in the FCT and beyond. The entire Council stands in solidarity with you at this moment”, the statement read in part.
