December 5th began on a joyful note for women of Ikot Ambang and Urua Ikpa Markets in Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, as the Founder of Nse Bassey Foundation, ESV. Nse Bassey, led members of the foundation on a surprise visit to both markets.
At Ikot Ambang Market, regarded as the largest in Ibiono Ibom, Bassey arrived during the market’s monthly prayer summit. He commended the Market Chairman, Mr. Sunday Samuel, for sustaining such an initiative and appreciated the women for their devotion to God and active participation in community spiritual activities.
He explained that Nse Bassey Foundation is committed to reaching out to people, encouraging them, and offering support to ease their daily challenges.
Bassey further urged the women to continue supporting the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and other leaders who are working for the welfare of the people.
Responding, the Market Chairman thanked the Foundation for the visit and the love shown to the women.
Prince Inem Thomas, Chairman, Board of Trustees of Ibiono Ibom Southern Youth, was also present at the market to receive the Foundation’s delegation.
The Foundation proceeded to Urua Ikpa Market in Ibiono Ibom Central, where Bassey commended the Market Chairman, Ndifreke Johnson, and his executives for maintaining orderliness and serenity in the market.
He noted that the visit was aimed at sharing love with the women.
“Nse Bassey Foundation is here to encourage our mothers and sisters, the wombs that birth all of us. Wherever we are today, it is because our mothers and fathers stood by us and lifted us,” he said. “We will return in the coming days to support more businesses to grow.”
Highlight of both visits was the distribution of aprons and cash support to market women to boost their businesses.
