North Korea has condemned the recent Israeli attacks and United States military operation against Iran, describing the actions as “illegal aggression” and a violation of national sovereignty.
According to the Korean Central News Agency, a spokesperson for North Korea’s foreign ministry said the joint operation by Washington and Tel Aviv was unacceptable under any circumstances.
The spokesperson characterised the US action as “within the range of expectations,” accusing the United States of what was described as hegemonic and “gangster-like” behaviour. The statement added that the developments were an inevitable outcome of longstanding tensions in the region.
North Korea further urged regional countries, other stakeholders to take responsibility for restoring peace and stability in the Middle East.
The condemnation follows confirmation by Israel’s military that it carried out a broad wave of strikes in Tehran. The operation reportedly resulted in the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, significantly escalating tensions across the region.
The strikes, conducted jointly by Israeli and US forces, have raised fears of wider instability in the Middle East, with several countries closely monitoring the fallout.
The latest reaction from Pyongyang adds to a growing list of international responses as diplomatic and security concerns intensify worldwide.
