President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr Olugbemisola Odusote as the new Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, making her the first woman to lead the institution since its establishment in 1962.

The appointment, effective from January 10, 2026, is for a four-year term.

The 54 year-old Dr Odusote, currently serves as Deputy Director-General and Head of the Lagos Campus.

She will succeed Professor Isa Hayatu Chiroma, whose tenure ends on January 9.

A graduate of Obafemi Awolowo University, Dr Odusote was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1988 and holds a PhD in Law from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.

She has served in multiple leadership roles at the law school since joining in 2001.

As Director-General, she will oversee academic leadership, administrative management, and strategic direction across all campuses, while liaising with the Council of Legal Education, the Body of Benchers, and the Nigerian Bar Association.
