Director-General of the Nigerian Law School, Dr. Olugbemisola Titilayomi Odusote, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Kudirat Motonmori Olatokunbo Kekere-Ekun, at the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
The visit formed part of the Director-General’s efforts to strengthen stakeholder relationships and enhance institutional collaboration between the Nigerian Law School and the Judiciary.
During the meeting, Dr. Odusote expressed appreciation to the Chief Justice and the Honourable Justices of the Supreme Court for their continued support to the Nigerian Law School, particularly their mentorship of aspirants to the Bar through participation in Law Dinners, other academic and professional engagements.
She underscored the importance of sustaining strong partnerships between the institutions, noting that closer collaboration would further enrich legal education and judicial service in Nigeria.
The Director-General also highlighted the need to create more opportunities for qualified academic staff of the Nigerian Law School to be considered for elevation to the Bench, describing the approach as mutually beneficial to both legal training and the administration of justice.
In her response, Justice Kekere-Ekun warmly received the delegation and congratulated Dr. Odusote on her historic appointment as the first female Director-General of the Nigerian Law School.
The Chief Justice described the appointment as well deserved and offered prayers for a successful tenure. She encouraged the Director-General to continue upholding and advancing the standards, ethics, and values of the legal profession.
The visit reaffirmed the commitment of both institutions towards fostering excellence in legal education, strengthening the administration of justice in Nigeria.
