The National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria (NCTRN) has commended renowned businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Churchill Etuk, for his outstanding contributions to community development and humanitarian causes across the country.
In a statement conveyed through an official letter, the apex body of royal fathers in Nigeria particularly applauded Dr. Etuk’s consistent acts of generosity, highlighting his recent intervention at the Council’s Secretariat in Abuja, where he undertook the repair and installation of air conditioning units to improve the working environment.
The letter, signed by the Chairman of the Coordinating Committee of the Council and the Etsu of Nupe, His Royal Majesty Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar, noted that Dr. Etuk’s “random acts of philanthropy” reflect a deep commitment to societal wellbeing and national development.
It further conveyed the collective acknowledgement of the Council’s co-chairmen, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and Sa’ad Abubakar, for the businessman’s sustained efforts in uplifting the council infrastructure and communities through various initiatives.
Dr. Etuk, a United States-based entrepreneur and Chairman of the Churchill Etuk Foundation, has been actively involved in numerous outreach programmes spanning healthcare, education, and social welfare, particularly in underserved communities across Nigeria.
The Council noted that such interventions exemplify the role of private individuals in complementing government efforts toward national development, urging other well-meaning Nigerians to emulate Dr. Etuk’s humanitarian spirit.
Beyond his philanthropic engagements, Dr. Etuk has also indicated interest in representing Oruk Anam/Ukanafun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, a move observers say is further evidence of his desire to serve and uplift his people.
The traditional rulers’ body concluded by offering prayers for continued divine guidance, prosperity, and strength for Dr. Etuk, expressing hope that he will sustain, expand his impactful contributions to humanity.
