The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has launched an investigation into allegations of child abuse and molestation linked to singer Simisola Kosoko at her mother’s daycare centre in Lagos. The agency had previously appealed to anyone with credible information to assist in the probe.
In a statement, NAPTIP confirmed that its Director-General, Binta Adamu Bello, directed operatives to conduct a full-scale investigation following suggestive online posts by the singer. The agency emphasized that all communication platforms remain open for complaints from anyone affected.
The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) noted that prosecution would be difficult without a complainant or survivor. The case has also been referred to the Lagos State Police Command for further investigation.
Simi, who gained attention for her tweets while assisting at the daycare in 2012, has denied any wrongdoing, saying her posts were misinterpreted, manipulated. Authorities continue to encourage potential victims to come forward as preliminary investigations proceed.
