The Naira on Friday appreciated to ₦1,455 per dollar in the parallel market, strengthening from ₦1,460 recorded on Thursday.

However, in contrast, the local currency slightly depreciated in the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), where it traded at ₦1,438.50 per dollar, compared to ₦1,437.50 per dollar the previous day — reflecting a marginal ₦1 drop.

According to data published by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), this movement shows a minor loss on the official side but a notable gain in the street market, narrowing the exchange gap between both markets to ₦17.50 from ₦22.50 recorded on Thursday.

Overall, the Naira closed the week weaker by 50 kobo in the official market and ₦1 in the parallel market, signaling continued volatility despite recent signs of resilience.
