MultiChoice Nigeria has announced the appointment of Kemi Omotosho as its new Chief Executive Officer, following the retirement of long serving CEO John Ugbe.
In a statement released on Monday, the pay television company said Omotosho’s appointment takes effect from January 2026. Ugbe is stepping down after nearly 15 years at the helm, during which he steered the company through significant industry shifts, changing market dynamics.
Omotosho brings over two decades of experience across media, telecommunications and digital services in Nigeria and across sub Saharan Africa. She has held several senior leadership roles within the MultiChoice Group, including Executive Head of Customer Value Management in Nigeria and Group Executive Head of Customer Value Management for the Rest of Africa.
She most recently served as Regional Director for Southern Africa, where she oversaw operations across seven countries.
Speaking on her appointment, Omotosho described Nigeria as a strategic, dynamic market for the Group.
“It is a privilege to be entrusted with the leadership of MultiChoice Nigeria at this important moment. Nigeria remains one of the Group’s most strategic, dynamic markets,” she said.
“I look forward to working with our teams and partners to deepen our relationship with consumers, champion local storytelling and the creative economy, build a future ready-organization that delivers sustainable value.”
The company said the leadership transition followed a structured succession process designed to ensure continuity and operational stability as MultiChoice Nigeria enters its next phase of growth.
