Maduka University has matriculated a total of 967 students, marking a significant milestone in its academic expansion and commitment to future-driven education.

The ceremony, held at the institution’s international stadium, attracted dignitaries, academics, and stakeholders from across the South-East and other parts of the country, underscoring the university’s growing national relevance.

Speaking at the event, the Chancellor and Founder, Samuel Maduka Onyishi, reiterated the institution’s long-term vision of building a sustainable, value-driven academic system.

“The university is not a 100-metre race but a marathon — a continuous process,” he stated.

“Our focus is not just on increasing numbers, but on providing the right environment and facilities for meaningful learning.”

He emphasized the role of innovation and technology as central pillars of the university’s academic philosophy, noting that strong institutions are built on discipline, vision, and core values.

In his matriculation lecture, the Vice-Chancellor, Samuel Chijioke Ugwu, described education as a critical driver of sustainable development and societal progress.

“Universities must produce solutions, not just certificates,” he said.

“Sustainability is not a slogan; it is a disciplined continuity the decision to build today without destroying tomorrow.”

He further called for curriculum reforms across Nigerian universities, advocating for industry-driven and research-based learning models that promote innovation, critical thinking and real-world impact.

The Vice-Chancellor also highlighted the institution’s “new thinking” philosophy, aimed at producing entrepreneurial graduates equipped with leadership capacity and decision-making skills.

The matriculation ceremony officially ushers in a new academic journey for the students, as the university continues to align its educational framework with global standards in innovation, sustainability, and excellence.
