Professor Sandra Chidinma Duru has dismissed reports suggesting that criminal charges against Senator Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan have been withdrawn, insisting she is not merely a principal witness but a petitioner and directly affected party with independent legal rights in the matter.

In a detailed statement, Duru said speculation about a notice of discontinuance in suit number FHC ABJ CR 195 2025 does not alter the legal status of the case, stressing that she has received no official communication from the Federal Government or the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation indicating any withdrawal.

She stated that her silence in response to such reports is deliberate, strategic, adding that she has already demonstrated her resolve through lawful processes and court actions. According to her, the matter goes beyond individuals and touches on Nigeria’s institutional credibility and international reputation.

Duru said she possesses investigation reports, forensic evidence, videos, and authenticated records, linked to police authorities and meetings with senior government officials.

She alleged intimidation, threats, and coordinated smear campaigns against her and her associates, saying these actions form part of an extensive evidentiary record.

She maintained that engagements had taken place with the Attorney General of the Federation, the Inspector General of Police, and representatives of the Presidency, and that her position remains that the cases must run their full legal course without politicization or abandonment.

Duru also disclosed that foundational publications arising from the case have already been completed and released, with a revised edition planned for publication after one year to include additional verified material.

She reiterated that until any lawful, official notice of withdrawal is issued and placed on record, the cases and evidence remain valid. She concluded that her silence should not be mistaken for weakness, rather be seen as discipline, strategy, and confidence in the law.
