The Kano State Government has dismissed reports alleging that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf snubbed the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, during the Hawan Nasarawa ceremony at the Government House.

In a statement issued on Monday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Tofa, the government described the claims as “false, unfounded, and devoid of any factual basis.”

It said the reports were misleading and appeared designed to create unnecessary tension within the state.

“For the avoidance of doubt, it is an established tradition for governors to pay homage to the President during the Sallah period,” the statement noted.

The government reaffirmed that there was no breach of protocol or act of disrespect during the event, urging the public to disregard the rumours.

It also cautioned against the spread of misinformation capable of undermining peace and harmony in the state.
