KANO ASSEMBLY MOURNS DEATHS OF TWO LAWMAKERS

The Kano State House of Assembly has been thrown into mourning – following the sudden deaths of two of its members, Aminu Ungogo and Sarki Daneji, who reportedly died within hours of each other on Wednesday.

The first to pass away was Aminu Ungogo, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, who reportedly died at the Assembly complex after a brief illness.

The development was confirmed in a statement issued by the Speaker’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, who said the late lawmaker died while in active service at the Kano State House of Assembly.

He is survived by his wife and children.

Speaker of the Assembly, Jibril Falgore, expressed deep condolences to the family of the deceased, his constituents, and members of the House, describing the loss as irreplaceable.

He noted that Honorable Ungogo’s death came at a critical time when his contributions were greatly needed by the people of the state.

The late lawmaker was scheduled to be buried later on Wednesday evening in his hometown.

Meanwhile, the Assembly also announced the death of another member, Sarki Daneji, who passed away within the same period. Details surrounding his death were yet to be made public as at the time of filing this report.
