Three wealthy brothers, including two prominent New York real estate brokers, have been convicted in a high profile sex trafficking trial involving allegations that they lured women, girls to parties where they were drugged and sexually assaulted.
A federal jury in Manhattan found Oren Alexander, 38, Tal Alexander, 39, and Alon Alexander, 38, guilty after several days of deliberations following a trial that lasted more than six weeks. The brothers had pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Prosecutors accused the brothers of operating a pattern of abuse in which they invited women to exclusive parties, then isolated and assaulted them. During the trial, eleven women testified that one or more of the brothers had sexually abused them.
In closing arguments, prosecutors said the brothers presented themselves as wealthy party figures but used a calculated approach to target victims. Defense lawyers acknowledged the brothers sometimes behaved crudely in their personal relationships but argued that the encounters described during the trial were consensual.
Oren and Tal Alexander co founded the luxury real estate brokerage Official, while their brother Alon Alexander worked as an executive at a private security company. Tal Alexander faced seven criminal counts while Oren and Alon each faced six.
The brothers were arrested in December 2024 and have remained in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since then. One of the defense teams said they plan to appeal the verdict.
Manhattan United States Attorney, Jay Clayton said the verdict sends a clear message that authorities are determined to confront sex trafficking and abuse in all communities.
