Iran has cautioned the United States against actions that could destabilise the fragile regional ceasefire, warning that continued escalation involving Israel risks derailing ongoing diplomatic efforts.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said it would be unwise for Washington to allow Israeli military operations in Lebanon to jeopardize the truce, particularly at a time when negotiations remain delicate.
In a public statement, Araghchi suggested that the continuation of hostilities could undermine broader peace efforts, while also alluding to domestic political pressures facing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He indicated that a comprehensive ceasefire across the region, including Lebanon, would contribute to stability and accountability.

The remarks come amid disagreements over the scope of the ceasefire agreement, particularly whether it extends to Lebanon. While the United States has maintained that Lebanon is not formally included, Iranian officials have taken a broader view, signalling that continued strikes could provoke further responses.
Earlier, JD Vance had warned that any move to allow the ceasefire to collapse over Lebanon would carry serious consequences, underscoring growing tensions between the parties involved.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump said he had engaged Israeli leadership in discussions aimed at reducing the intensity of military operations, suggesting that efforts were being made to prevent further escalation.
Despite these assurances, reports indicate that military activity has continued in parts of Lebanon, raising concerns about the durability of the ceasefire. Civilian areas, including densely populated districts, have been affected, increasing pressure on international actors to intervene diplomatically.
The current situation highlights the complexity of maintaining a ceasefire in a multi-front conflict, where differing interpretations of agreements continue to test diplomatic progress.

As negotiations move forward, the ability of key stakeholders to align on the terms and scope of the ceasefire will be critical in determining whether the region moves toward sustained stability or renewed confrontation.
