U.S. President, Donald Trump has said the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel could come to an end within the next two to three weeks, expressing optimism that stability may soon return to the region.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump indicated that U.S. forces were nearing the completion of their objectives in Iran. He stated that the United States was preparing to withdraw after “finishing the job.”

“We want to knock out every single thing they have,” Trump said, adding that a diplomatic agreement could also be reached before military operations conclude. “It’s possible that we’ll make a deal before that,” he noted.

The White House also announced that the president will address the nation on Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. (0100 GMT Thursday) to deliver what it described as “an important update on Iran.”

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in separate remarks, said the joint military campaign against Iran had “changed the face of the Middle East.” He vowed that Israel would continue targeting Iranian positions.

Meanwhile, tensions remain high across the region. Reports indicate that Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon killed at least seven people in southern Beirut and surrounding areas, while the Israeli military said the strikes targeted a senior Hezbollah commander.

According to Lebanon’s health ministry, the wider conflict has resulted in more than 1,200 deaths, displaced over one million people across the country.

Iranian officials, however, have denied claims of active negotiations with the United States. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said he has continued to receive messages from U.S. envoy, Steve Witkoff “directly, as before,” however emphasized that these exchanges do not amount to formal talks.

In a related development, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps warned it could retaliate against major U.S. technology companies including Meta, Google and Apple if further Iranian leaders are assassinated.

The group said the warning was intended to protect Iranian citizens, deter what it described as targeted killings of its leadership and citizens.
