Iran has launched missile attacks on the Israeli cities of Dimona and Arad condition. Several residential buildings were destroyed, and fires broke out following the missile impacts.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the night as “difficult”, vowed that Israel would continue its operations against Iran, where US-Israeli strikes since February 28 have reportedly killed over 1,500 people, including more than 200 children according to Iranian state media.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that the Dimona nuclear facility itself was not damaged and no abnormal radiation levels were detected, though it stressed the need for “maximum military restraint” around nuclear sites.
Al Jazeera reports that Iran appears to be following an “eye-for-an-eye” approach, aiming to make its threats credible and reinforce long-term deterrence rather than merely forcing a ceasefire.
This latest escalation marks a new and dangerous phase in the conflict, highlighting the continuing risks to civilians and critical infrastructure in the region.
