Iran has called on the United Nations to take urgent action in response to what it described as reckless and provocative threats made by U.S. President Donald Trump amid ongoing protests in the country.

Iranian officials accused Trump of inciting unrest and interfering in the nation’s internal affairs, following comments in which he openly supported protests and warned Iranian authorities of consequences. Tehran described the remarks as dangerous rhetoric capable of escalating tensions and undermining regional stability.

In a formal communication to the United Nations Iran urged the international body to condemn what it called inflammatory statements and to uphold principles of sovereignty and non interference.

Iranian representatives argued that such threats violate international norms and encourage chaos rather than dialogue.

Trump’s comments came as Iran continues to witness sporadic protests fueled by economic hardship, political grievances and social discontent.

While U.S. officials have repeatedly voiced support for what they describe as the Iranian people’s right to protest, Tehran insists the demonstrations are being exploited by foreign actors.

Iranian authorities warned that continued foreign interference could lead to unpredictable consequences, stressed that domestic issues should be resolved internally, without external pressure or intimidation.

The United Nation is yet to issue a formal response to Iran’s request. However, diplomatic observers say the appeal highlights deepening hostilities between Tehran and Washington at a time of already strained relations.
