The National Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Dr. Yusuf Dantalle, has lauded Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, for what he described as impactful and development-driven leadership, marked by visible infrastructural transformation and sustained peace across the state.
Dr. Dantalle made the commendation on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, during a courtesy visit to the Governor at Government House, Uyo. He led members of the national leadership of IPAC alongside the newly elected State Executive Committee of the Council.
According to him, observations made within his few days in the state pointed to prudent deployment of resources toward meaningful development projects that directly benefit the people.
“From what we have seen, it is clear that the Governor is channeling the resources of the State into impactful and people-oriented projects,” he stated.
The IPAC National Chairman emphasized that the Council is not an opposition political platform but a body comprising all registered political parties in the country. He explained that the new leadership of IPAC is committed to ensuring that political parties remain credible vehicles for attaining power and responsible channels for promoting good governance without bias.
Dr. Dantalle urged political actors to clearly distinguish between politics and governance, noting that governance should always prioritize public interest above partisan considerations. He also commended Governor Eno for his role in ensuring the peaceful conduct of IPAC’s state election, describing it as a demonstration of inclusive and mature leadership.
He thereafter presented the newly elected State Executive Committee, led by Mrs. Bessing Umoh, to the Governor and encouraged them to collaborate with the State Government in advancing the ARISE Agenda.
Responding, Governor Umo Eno congratulated the new IPAC executive and expressed appreciation to the National Chairman for upholding the state’s cherished values of peace and fairness throughout the electoral process.
“We thank God for the conduct of your election, we thank all the participants for making it peaceful. In Akwa Ibom, we naturally preach peace because without peace, there is really nothing anybody can do,” the Governor said.
“Once trouble starts, we only know how it begins; we do not know how it will end or what it may involve. God has blessed Akwa Ibom with peace, and we will continue to promote peace in whatever we do.”
Governor Eno assured the Council of his administration’s readiness to embrace constructive criticism and deepen collaboration with IPAC, stressing that he does not view the body as an opposition group but as a partner in progress.
He urged the new executive to prioritize unity, growth, and development in the overall interest of the State, rather than opposing progress under the guise of criticism.
