INT’L WOMEN’S DAY: OLUKOYEDE ASSURES EFCC FEMALE OFFICERS OF ENCHANCED WELFARE

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has assured female officers of the commission of improved welfare, empowerment and stronger institutional support.

Olukoyede gave the assurance on Wednesday in Abuja during a seminar organised at the EFCC Headquarters to commemorate International Women’s Day 2026.

He said the commission remains committed to the health, safety and well-being of its female personnel, noting that special measures have been introduced to ensure they remain emotionally and physically fit to carry out their responsibilities.

According to him, the EFCC established a crèche in its offices to ease the burden of childcare for nursing mothers, while policies have also been developed to protect female staff from abuse and harassment.

The EFCC boss further disclosed that the commission has activated its Sexual Harassment and Bullying Policy, pledging strict enforcement.

Olukoyede commended female officers of the commission for their resilience and dedication to duty, assuring them that management would continue to prioritize their welfare and create a conducive work environment.

He also urged them to maintain the values of the organization through diligence, productivity, punctuality, self-development and loyalty to the EFCC’s mandate.

In her remarks, the Acting Director of Staff Welfare Services, Deputy Commander of the EFCC (DCE) Felicia Timothy, praised women for their roles as caregivers, innovators and decision-makers, noting that their contributions strengthen institutions and society.

Timothy also commended Olukoyede for appointing more women into leadership positions within the commission, describing it as a major step toward empowering female officers.
