International Peace Ambassador (IPA) and member of the Board of Trustees of the International Human Rights Commission–Relief Fund (IHRC-RF), Alhaji Mohammed Awaisu Wana, has cautioned the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu treat with utmost caution, the reported United States military strikes on Nigerian soil.
The human rights advocate, Wana, who spoke with journalists in Minna, described the action as an ominous development.
He argued that the incident suggested Nigeria had become vulnerable to external interference, where such actions portend grave danger to Nigeria’s sovereignty and the stability of Africa as a region.
According to him, the development exposed Nigeria’s susceptibility on the global stage, raised concerns about the ability of leaders to adequately defend national interests, describing it as a troubling sign of weakness in the country’s political leadership
Wana criticized President Tinubu’s administration of showing weakness in the face of what he described as an affront to Nigeria’s sovereignty.

He said the failure of successive governments to decisively tackle terrorism had placed the country in a precarious position within the comity of nations.
He called on Nigerians to place national survival above all else, urging citizens to refrain from statements or actions capable of undermining peace and stability. He also advocated dialogue as a globally accepted means of resolving conflicts.
Wana further challenged leaders at all levels of government to intensify efforts to end terrorism, banditry, violence against innocent citizens.
He noted that confronting the security threats should be a collective responsibility of both national and subnational authorities.
